Moving Pictures-Irene Poon

Saturday, Ju ly 2, 2022 Today marks the first day of Moving Pictures:  The photography of Irene Poon at San Francisco State University in California.  As one walks through the gallery spanning her long career of 45 years in photography and service to the university, it's hard to imagine how many students have been inspired by her work.  Known for her technique of capturing the subjects through stills, firstly with 35 mm cameras and in later years, digital photography, this gallery features some of her prolific works.  Her themes feature small but the beauty of life at the moment. Her work has been featured at the de Young Museum, the Crocker Art Museum, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. It is essential to mention that the gallery was curated by Sharon Bliss and Kevin Chen with the assistance of aspiring art students.  Photographs are carefully matted, framed, and walls designed.   Irene Poon, Charles Wong, and several of her colleagues were in attendance.  For Irene, at 8
